Ready. Set. Go Mode!
Philadelphia – host city of the 2016 Democratic National Convention. With 55,000+ visitors in town from the POTUS and FLOTUS, Political figures, Celebrities, C-Level Executives, Volunteers, Protestors, Citizens of the US, and Foreign visitors – you never know who you will meet on the streets, trains, elevators, networking events, and restaurants. I figured it’s best to follow my own advice. “Always be ready!”
Ready. Set. Go Mode: starts with a positive mental attitude. It gives you the ability of being as prepared as possible for what you want to come into your life. Being mentally “ready” means you know you have what it takes to accomplish any goal you set for yourself. It also gives you something to “set” your sights on. When your opportunity arises it’s time to be in “go mode!”
Multiple opportunities come your way throughout life; you’ll never know when the least expected one would come. The effects of being ill prepared when an opportunity surfaces can be catastrophic at times. Sometimes you only get one shot.
I’m not saying you have to be dressed to the nine’s all the time because I don’t. I am saying following:
It’s not always having your hand out to receive. It’s also about lending a hand to give back.
Being in a city full of who’s who for one full week can lead to great opportunities if you leave yourself open to the possibilities. It also gives you a chance to pay it forward by lending your services to someone. Acts of kindness to the many visitors who are in a place not so familiar can lead to greater rewards of the heart. It’s a great feeling when you know you’ve been able to help someone, even if it by giving directions to a destination.
Always be ready not only for yourself but for the benefit of others. Our lives are designed to be two-way streets.
